Pinch me. OMG

August 10th, 2012 at 06:55 pm

Yes, I actually used OMG in a sentence because I'm that shocked. DH's best friend actually paid back the $5,000 he has owed us for the last two years. he wire transfer landed in my bank account today.

I can't believe it. Even my hubby was shocked. He said he never thought he would see it again. Guess that's what I get for being a naysayer. Now I have to put that foot in my mouth!

Awesome!! I would be in complete shock as well. I still wouldn't loan money to him again. What is the plan for the money?

Wow! That's great for now. The only thing I'd think about later is your response when your DH is enboldened to loan out money to other friends or to him again. (His logic: It worked out for us loaning to so-and-so).

I think it would have been a better lesson for your hubby if he didn't pay it back. Don't get me wrong - this is GREAT news. I just hope your hubby isn't at all "I told you so," and more to the point that he doesn't still think it's a great idea to loan money to people.

Actually, my first thought was "wonder who he borrowed the money from to pay you back." Wink

He hasn't said I told you so, I think we're both just in shock.

    That is wonderful!
Why would your foot be in your mouth? He didn't payback when he said and it would be different if he paid back w/interest.

Agree with MM. Hopefully Thrift-o-Daddy gets the idea that it wasn't a great idea. I know you discussed it plenty! And two years is still a long time to wait for that return!

Wow, I did NOT see that coming! I guess maybe an attack of conscience can lead even the least likely characters to make good, huh? I think it is telling that your DH was surprised, as well -- (I don't think that offers much in the way of insurance for his character judgement skills). What will you do with the cash?
