Peer pressure to save?

I read this article and thought it kind of reminded me of what we have going on here. A special support group and community that helps us save! Gee, aren't we lucky?

SA participants are smart realizing they get support and often someone else has already done the research or had the experience, sometimes positive, other times negative. Saved me for making dumb mistakes, offered articles such as yours without my having to seek. thanks

Interesting article. Its been my experience that peer pressure is a double edge. If you are amongst peers that you respect, you tend follow what your peers are doing whether spending or saving. Regular old peers aren't quite as effective. SA to me is a community of like minded people who write about and make financial decisions I respect. Even if someone writes about troubles and issues and ineffective decisions, I also read a human being behind it.

Thanks for sharing. I think social support for a simpler lifestyle really helps...but it's key that we've all chosen our lifestyle. I think it's when people feel coerced into changing that things are most likely to backfire.
