The check cleared!

July 2nd, 2011 at 07:37 am

The check for the sale of our house cleared. Yay! I am going to set up the transfers for Tuesday morning, so I can start tackling those goals. Yay!

Update: So, I set up a transfer to my mortgage account (at the same bank). Weird. They only let you pay up to $99,999.99 at a time. So, I had to set up two transfers on two different dates to send the $118,000 I had budgeted. I wonder why they do that?

I also got a freelance check for $160 yesterday, so I sent $100 to each kid's 529.

I'm feeling really blessed that I could sell my home in such short order. Seriously. Even if I did take a loss (but I knew that when I decided to move).

Yahoo!!! I still can't believe how "fast" this all happened. Seems like yesterday you were debating over buying another house. Wonderful news all around! Smile

I know how you feel. When we started this spec house I was really nervous because I knew nothing was selling. The couple that bought the house said they had been looking for almost 2 years and had looked at hundreds of houses! They were the first people to look at our spec house and they made an offer the first day. The offer was what we were asking.

Congrats! I'm so glad it is all working out for you. Loving the new house, right?

All of the real estate pros I talked to during this whole ordeal constantly commented on how there were no buyers and there were no deals happening. So, I feel extra blessed. Only one person came to look at our house, and he bought it. Chance favors the prepared, I guess.

I am excited that I can now start making our new house a home. I painted the dining room last night, and plan to do the master bedroom next weekend. It feels nice, and it feels extra great not to have t0o run off every weekend and spend 12 hours a day working on the house we DON'T live in.
