And we're still waiting

February 28th, 2011 at 02:00 am

Turns out the seller is out of the country, half-way across the world, and her realtor can only reach her by email. He's hoping she checks her email and sees we made an offer.

Ugh. Technically, it expired tonight at 7 p.m., but I guess that won't matter given circumstances. I hate being in limbo. It drives me crazy. I am trying to just do what I have to do as if nothing is happening, but it's hard.

On the bright side, we did learn that the seller had rejected an offer that is about 7k more than our initial bid, but about 7 k less than the max price we are willing to pay.

I feel confident you will hear soon. Having gone through this process in June and July last year, I can say it seemed inordinately exhausting and long, but later I had wished we had more time to allow us to gather more money for closing and stuff.

Yeah. Although, I fear the closing date in our current contract will stay the same, even if it takes a week to hear back!

I just checked in and have missed your latest exciting news. Good luck! I remember when we bought our house - it was a bit stressful (though we had a good loan manager who made it very less so) and I felt like I was hyperactive the whole time, so many things to do and plan and sign and look over and check - sometimes I'd go a day without eating because I forgot, it was so odd.
    Good luck!
