36 hours til baby Sid arrives

November 12th, 2009 at 03:47 am

and hopefully no sooner. We go in for an induction Friday morning at 6 a.m. Doc promises me it will be much faster than Bean, who took 25 hours to come out. She seems to think Sid will be out by Friday afternoon.

That said, I am starting to dread the whole labor and recovery thing. It's going to be a lot harder this time, now than we have Bean to take care of too. Oh, and the months of not sleeping at night. Oh joy!

On a financial note, savings has been going OK, and I do have the paperwork to open Sid's 529 plan once he's out. Hopefully I will get his SSN in time to make the contribution for this year. I may be cutting it close, as I think it takes up to 6 weeks from the time you file the papers.

Denise in case you don't post again, I will be thinking of you on Friday. Yes it will be hard, but it is so worth it and you know that. And just think your real reward will come some day hopefully in the form of grandkids! Give a kiss to both your babies from your cyber friends!

Well, congratulations in advance! Prayer for a safe and easy arrival of Sid. For what it's worth, recovery seemed quicker for me with the second. Have DH check in and give us the update! (Hugs) from you cruber friends here!

I was induced and I actually liked it because it seemed like I had more control. Not really, I suppose, but at least I knew the timing of it all.

Good luck. I wish you a quick delivery and an easy recovery. I can't remember... do you know for sure that you're having a boy? Congratulations in advance! I'll be thinking of you!

Hang in there, mom! Smile Oh, and great job to be able to get the 539 prepped in light of all this.

Ooh, good luck, and I hope you post a photo of Sid (love that name). Great going on getting the college fund set up already! That's another thing I need to figure out; are 529s useful if we live in UK and kid decides to stay in England for school? (sigh...)

    Good Luck!

Second one is easier because you have a clue what you are doing - LOL. (OF course, my spouse and I were both home with the second for many months, so my experience might not be terribly relevant. Our setup was extraordinarily easy on both the elder child, and I. But regardless, the whole thing was easier than the first time. Your milk also tends to come in sooner, if you do nurse. My first nearly starved, so that made things a lot easier!)
