I'm going to quit looking at stocks for awhile

I am just going to stop checking the market and my portfolio stock prices. It's just too stressful.

I'm just going to keep forging ahead on savings and wait for the upswing.

    me too. Despite my worrying and struggle to understand whats going on around me- everything keeps changing! I made my decision to stick with what I have- now I will reevaluate my plan when things calm down.

    You might want to track the VIX. That might help you a little.

    I am assumming one of the stocks you own is NCC. I alomost bought it yesterday but the dillution of common at the beginning of the month scared me.

    I did however get into GS this morning.

    I did buy NCC, for $1.35 a share. If I lose, I only lose $136 plus $12.95 for the trade, so I went for it.

    i looked at my statement today and i see that since january 08, i've lost about $53,000. It hurts, but oddly, i'm still confident it will come back...in time. I don't need the money now so i'll be patient. There's just too much hysteria right now.

    Yes, if it bothers you, please turn it off and don't look at it anymore. No doubt, the volatility is unusually high right now. Just keep on trucking passively and spend your time on something else.

    Our portfolio has lost $60,000 since last fall. it's frustrating to work hard, save, and invest only to watch the value tank, but you have to take a long-term view.

    I don't bother looking at my investment and retirement accounts. I haven't been for several weeks now. It's just easier for me when it is so volatile.
