A few months earlier I posted about fixing all the broken things and cleaning all the dirty things around the house. I complained that I just could not get grout clean in my bathrooms and Snafu suggested an inexpensive handheld steam cleaner.
After watching some youtube videos, I finally bought one and it arrived yesterday. Oh my gosh. I wish I'd known about these years ago!! The dirt just flew off the grout. It isn't perfect, but it's the best and cleanest and whitest it's ever been. And all using just water and no chemicals.
Thanks Snafu! I'm addicted to the steam cleaner now!
(PS It was a Bissell Steam Shot.)
Thanks, Snafu!

I've smeared didn't like, cheap, on sale toothpaste on grout to help whiten.

It might depend on how gross your grout is. We have lots of boys running through the house, so they track in a lot of dirt. It's been great for the grout and cleaning the crud off the bottom inside track of the shower door.
I haven't tried it for other things, yet. It might just be my go-to for tub and shower!

Say, I was thinking of you yesterday. There's a publishing house that does children's nonfiction books that commissions them from freelancers. AS did one. Pay's not huge; $500 for a 2000-word book. But I thought it hit the sweet spot between journalism and YA fiction! It's called Red Line.
